1. Can you please introduce yourself, where are you from, how long you shoot on film?

Hello people of Analogue United. My name is Maria and I am from Greece. My analogue "journey" began 4-5 years ago and has continued ever since. The past year is nevertheless when I started shooting more consequently. 

 

 

2. Why do you like to shoot on film?

Ι shoot film because it is a ritual, one might say. Ιt is a lengthy process. It involves growing patience, talking to people, finding the perfect accosiates to develop, by whom you learn and grow. 

 

 

3. What’s your favorite gear to use (camera, lens, film) ?

I use my ancient Yashica Kyocera, still alive and going after 20 years. As for film I go with the affordable and trusted Fuji C200. Lately I tried the Kodak ultramax 400 and I must say I was impressed by its clarity and the vividness it gave to the blue tones of the greek islands. 

 

 

4. Among your works, which one is your favorite? Why?

Among my works, I love some recent experiments of mine involving the human body in which I finally suceeded (even partially) to include some tenderness and intimacy to the pictures I make. 

 

 

5. Exactly what it is you want to say with your photographs?

Having to say something with your work requires to have reached maturity in your medium, -whichever one this is- and not struggling so much anymore with the technical aspects of it -and i haven't. I still practice and I have a long way to go. So meaning to be found!
